Cleaning solutions for persistent layers
After years of intensive use of the trains, the wheelsets end up with massive soiling such as hard encrustations, grease, brake dust, etc. It is often also necessary to remove old, sometimes multiple paint layers to allow crack testing or repainting.
Another challenge when cleaning wheelsets is the high weight of up to several tons. In addition, drive wheelsets and running wheelsets have to be treated differently.
To meet the cleaning requirements, a large-parts system with sufficient space and adapted technology is required, e.g. our PacificER/TA and our Geyser.
PacificER is a large-volume spray cleaning system. The wheelsets rotate and are cleaned with a nozzle system that is adapted to the contour. The floor-level loading is automated. The PacificTA is equipped with a special nozzle frame for targeted cleaning of hard-to-reach places on different wheelsets.
The Geyser uses a robot system and the force of the high-pressure water jet for cleaning and paint stripping. Depending on level of soiling, cleanliness requirements and paint layers, the pressure ranges from 100 to 3,000 bar.
